The stunning Absaroka (pronounced "ab-SOAR-kuh") Mountains are enormously tall and very rugged. They form portions of the Eastern boundary of the amazing Yellowstone National Park and are home to magnificent wildlife, including eagles, elk, pronghorn antelope, grizzly bears, cougars and more.

Since chicken is such a mild-tasting meat, my Absaroka Mountain Chicken Rub is blended to bring out a "wild" wonderful flavor without overpowering the chicken.

My convenient 2 ounce stand-up, resealable bags are perfect for the home gourmet cook. My Medium Spicy version is also available in 4 ounce, 8 ounce and 1 pound bulk sizes.

What's in this spice rub?
Paprika, smoked sea salt, turbinado sugar, chili powder, black pepper, white pepper, granulated garlic, granulated onion, ground celery seed, cayenne pepper

  • How Hot Is This?

Everyone’s tastes and tolerances are different, so my products come in three varieties:

    • Mild, with NO Cayenne or Chiplote pepper. There might be a small amount of heat from the other ingredients (chili powder, etc), but it is quite mild and acceptable to all but the most sensitive folks.
    • Medium Spicy, with enough Cayenne and Chiplote to give the flavor some zing, but really should not have your running for the fire hose.
    • HOT!! At least twice as much Cayenne and Chipotle as my Medium Spicy varieties. Expect this burst of heat to set your tongue on fire. Recommended for true heat lovers!
  • How Do I Use It?

Generally speaking, rubs are shaken, patted or rubbed onto the meat at least an hour before smoking, grilling, or other methods of cooking your chicken. I find that one hour marinating in the fridge is plenty for chicken.
